I have been a reporter for fifteen years and cover Summit County in Northeast Ohio.  I’ve won the Press Club of Cleveland’s Ohio Excellence in Journalism award in 2013 and 2014 and the Ohio Newspaper Association awards in 2011, 2013 and 2014.

The Impending Love series has six books: Impending Love and War (1860), Impending Love and Death (1861), Impending Love and Lies (1862), Impending Love and Capture (1863-1865), Impending Love and Madness (1865), and Impending Love and Promise (1866). Impending Love and War takes place in 1860 in the fictional town of Darrow Falls in Northeast Ohio. Cory Beecher must decide between Western Reserve College instructor Douglas Raymond and unemployed lawyer Tyler Montgomery as they help a family escape slavery and the chasers pursuing them.

Impending Love and Death takes place in 1861 after the Union defeat at Bull Run. Jem Collins enlists the aid of Logan Pierce to find her missing husband. Chasers from the first book return to cause trouble.

Impending Love and Lies takes place in 1862 and finds Colleen (Cole) Beecher working for Blake Ellsworth and caring for the wounded in Washington City. They join Clara Barton at Antietam, the bloodiest day of the war.

Impending Love and Capture begins with the battle of Gettysburg in 1863 as Jessica Beecher says good-bye to her beau, Ed, and is captured by Confederate Major Morgan Mackinnon. On opposite sides, they war becomes their enemy when they fall in love.

Impending Love and Madness begins in 1865 when Cassandra Beecher and Zach Ravenswood witness the assassination of President Lincoln at Ford’s Theater. The end of the war doesn’t bring peace as Zach faces treachery at home and needs his friends and Cass to save his life. 

Impending Love and Promise occurs in 1866 when Jules Beecher travels to Kentucky to find her orphaned cousins and bring them home. She meets Dr. Roe Greystone, tortured by memories of the war, and is stalked by Clyde Cassell, a chaser, deserter, and mercenary that is seeking revenge against the youngest Beecher sister.
